Putting it into a protocol

  1. Pre-clean.

    Fecal matter and waste are thoroughly removed before disinfection. Vigorous wiping or scrubbing until all visible soil is gone.

  2. Prepare the solution.

    2153 ppm or 4306 ppm available chlorine, chosen against how long your protocol can hold the surface wet. Tablet counts and water volumes are on the dilution chart.

  3. Apply and hold.

    Ensure surfaces stay visibly wet for the full contact time listed above. If the surface dries early, the claim does not apply.

  4. Direction of work.

    Right to left or left to right on horizontal surfaces, top to bottom on vertical. Restrooms last. Do not reuse soiled cloths.

  5. Coverage.

    Manual wiping can miss three-dimensional surfaces. Electrostatic application charges product droplets, helping them wrap around surfaces to reach all sides and edges, IV poles, wheelchair frames, and other complex geometry.

Is PurOne effective against C. diff spores?

Yes. PurOne and PurTabs are both EPA-registered sporicides against Clostridioides difficile on hard, non-porous surfaces, at 2153 ppm / 10 minutes or 4306 ppm / 4 minutes.

Does the C. diff claim cover the inside of the toilet bowl?

No. The guardrail flag on this claim in the approved sheet states explicitly: no EPA claim exists for inside the toilet bowl. Any in-bowl content elsewhere must be presented as third-party research, not a registered claim.

What does the soil-load note mean?

The 4306 ppm / 4-minute claim was tested with 0.25% Bovine Serum Albumin, 0.08% Bovine Mucin, and 0.35% Yeast Extract added to the test surface, per the approved claims sheet.
